Red Castle Antique Image Viewer - Getting Started

The program runs from the cd, there is no install.

Each time you insert the cd, the program will start if you have AutoRun enabled, if not you will have to click on "My Computer" and then click on (depending on the operating system you are using) either the cdrom icon, or the Red Castle icon and then click "Go".

Read the license the first time (this is the total license).

Red Castle owns the software on this cd and grants you a license to use the software on this cdrom, you may not copy the cdrom or the software.

You may use the images on this cd in your artistic works, you may not use any part of this cd to be included on another cd or as the basics for rubberstamp designs.

Red Castle is an "angel" company and you may sell or give away any item you create as long as it conforms to the above restictions.

Sample Screen


The left panel is a list of all the images on the cd. The right panel shows the currently selected image. The right panel will also be used to show preview images, slide show, and the readme file.

The menu at the top, determines the function to be performed.

Main Menu

File
Has selections to save the currently displayed image as a bitmap and Exit the program. Click here for more information on saving files.
Printer Setup
Displays a window that allows the printer to be selected and setup if needed.
Print
Will display the Print menu. See Print for description of what windows will be displayed.
Slide Show Start
Click here for information on using the slide show feature.
Color
You can change the colors in the image with one click, to over 16 pre-defined colors.

File Menu

SaveAs...
Displays a File Selection window, that allows the selection of a file (or the entering of a file name) that will be used to save the page currently displayed in the Preview window as a Windows Bitmap. The saved file can than later be used either with a graphics editor to make changes to it before printing. If saving a large image, the files will be huge, upto about 20MB each.
Exit
Closes the program.

Slide Show Start

Clicking on "Slide Show Start" will show the following menu
and the images will start displaying one after the other in the right hand panel. It the display is to slow, click "Faster" to reduce the time between images, and if the display is to fast fast, click on "Slower" to increase the time between images.

When the last image is shown, the slide show will start over with the first image.

Click "Slide Show Stop" to end the slide show.

Print Menu

Clicking on Print will show the following menu:
Clicking on each of the menu options in order, will show these print preview screens.

Changing Colors

Clicking on Color will show the following in the left hand panel:
Clicking on each of the buttons in order, will show these color preview screens.
Not all color choices will be work with all images, depending on the images shading and contrast.

When "Use Colored Image" button is clicked then the colored version of the image will replace the orginal image in the right hand panel. The colored version of the image can be used to print or saved to a file. Once a diffent image is selected the new image is displayed as it is on the cd, and the next time the image that was colored is selected it will not be colored. So be sure to save the colored image if is is one you will want later.
